  • Three women, Nobel Peace Prize 2011
  • Congratulations to the three women, Nobel Peace Prize 2011!

Nobel Peace Prize was given this year to three women who fought for Human rights from regions in the world where violence and dictatorship prevail. These women are: the Liberian president Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf , her compatriot Leymah Gbowee and the Yemeni Tawakkul Karman, a journalist and activist for democracy who became a figurehead of the Arab Spring.

The European Forum Of Muslim Woman congratulates these three women for this distinction that honors their daily fight, and welcomes this choice that enhance the feminine potential at the international level.

For the establishment of a long-lasting peace, the world needs the commitment of citizens to defend rights in order to end with dictatorships and repression of which the women are still the main victims.

It is certain that this long-lasting peace can surely not be made without an active participation of women, without their efforts, their courage and their knowledge in all levels. As Thorbjörn Jagland, the president of the committee well said in front of the press:”We cannot obtain democracy and a long-lasting peace in the World if women don’t have the same possibilities as men to be influential on all levels of society.”
